Palledrone is an autonomous resupply hexarotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is capable of transporting up to 100 lbs of cargo 5 miles, and loads under 10 lbs up to 21 miles. The vehicle can also be outfitted with retransmission capability as well as an ISR payload. Palledrone will improve material distribution by reducing workload and quickly deliver supplies on demand.
The vehicle can be flown with either 4 or 6 arms, which allows the vehicle to be still functional if one or two of the motors fail. The empty vehicle weighs 90 lbs and 160 lbs with the power source connected. The maximum weight, including payload, is approximately 270 lbs. The vehicle also has connection points to mount ISR payloads and hardware that give the vehicle retransmission capability.
Palledrone has the versatility to fly with 4 or 6 arms. The quadcopter can lift a payload of 80 lbs. for 5 minutes. The hexacopter has the ability to fly with a full payload of 100 lbs. for 5 minutes.
The fully autonomous vehicle has a diameter of 10.4 feet. The quadcopter weighs 130 lbs. The hexacopter weighs 162 lbs.
The removable arms allow for quick and simple assembly. This also allows for easy, modular repair for maintenance.
